Sunday guests of Mr. and Mr. On Saturday evening a large crowd gathered in the church basement for the "Greenbank Gamblers' Fastball Club Banquet. Greenbank U.C.W. members served a delicious roast beef dinner to the team members, relatives and friends. Following the dinner an excellent program of musical entertainment was provided by the George Beare Entertainers. This was followed by the telling of many stories of past achieve- ments of Greenbank ball teams. Special tributes were paid to the Greenbank team for winning the 1981 Uxbridge Community League championship. It was noted that high level of play on the field and general deportment of team members had been a credit to the community. Special presentations were made to the following people: Wes Southern for his many years as Sponsor; Frank Lee as the no 1 Gambler Fan; G Rodd as team batting champion and Ken Irvine most valuable * player. Discussion followed concerning the need for park floodlights, more news on this matter to follow shortly. The gathering then moved to Centennial Hall where the balance of the evening was spent in reminising and dancing to the excellent music provided by a disc jockey. All present agreed that a first rate evening was enjoyed by the Greenbank Gamblers and supporters. Many relatives and friends attended the christening service Sunday morning of . Victoria Ann daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Rick Jones- and brother Eddie of Ottawa, great granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard McMillan. Other guests, Mr. and Mrs. Gofdon Hood of Little Britain and daughter Kathryn of Toronto, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Snoddon of Little Britain. Mr. and Mrs. Herb Fuller of Lions Head are spending a few days with her sister Mr. and Mrs. Frank Innes.
