Holtby Turner of Brandon, Manitoba made his yearly visit to Ontario to take in the Royal Winter Fair and visit family in the Port Perry area. Mr. Turner stayed at Holtbyhome. Congratulations to Mrs. Chas Andrews Sr. who won $50.00 in the "Great Name Game" that runs in the Toronto Star. Mr. and Mrs. Beacock, Mr. and Mrs. S. Moore attended the Hot Beef supper at Raglan. Wednesday, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Armstrong called on Bill's mom at the Rosemere Manor in Lakefield, Ontario. Mrs. E. Tulloch of Regina, Sask accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. R. On Saturday, the Parent's - Auxiliaries of the Scout and Guide movement were over- Jjoyed at the response to their joint project of bake and craft sale. There was noted evidence of co-operation and a good time for the children who could purchase items within their limited budgets. Tho' there was plenty of work involved, the results were very gratifying and thanks is extended to all who took part. Sale of tickets on the afghan was worthwhile. Mrs. Bev. Brown from the "Head,"" new District Commissioner for Guides made the lucky draw. There- fore we congratulate Mrs. Faye Sanderson of the Island as being the winner. Ladies of the "Head", don't forget to-night (Wed.) is the time at 6:30 for your Mystery Sister Supper. This is your last notice, if you wish to contribute toward a gift for the seven Island young people married since May. At the Sunday Island Church Service there was a Baptism ceremony for two young boys, Stephen Ronald, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jennings ,and William Thos. son of Mr. and Mrs. Rogers. They were welcomed into the church by the Clerk of : Session, Mrs. Eliza Fralick. | We hope to welcome the boys ,into the Sunday School and the parents into the Church. Rev. Clarke's message showed a great amount of study and research into the format of the Bible and its importance. Ther was no Bible before the time of Moses, 1250 yrs after recorded creation, Moses was called upon for many responsibilities, one being the acceptance of the 10 Commandments and the writing of several books of Earline (Turnto page 32)
