Before lunch several interesting contest and games were played. On Thursday evening the hall was filled with 20 tabl of Euchre players. High scores were Ladies - Reta Cook, Anne Cornish; Georgena McLaughlin. Men - Bruce Bright, John Beckett, Elwood Tripp. A large number of special prizes had been donated so a lot of people went home with a prize. Thank you everyone who donated prizes the committee really appreciate them. There will be no euchre this week but one on Wed. Dec. 30th for one week only. (Lindsay, Beaverton, Wood- \ ville and Fenelon Falls) was well represented at this vears annual meeting of U.C.0. held at the Royal York Hotel in Toronto on Dec. 14 and 15th. This year the U.C.O.group had to vie for space and attention with another group Allan McEachern and Provincial Treasurers were holding their meeting in the Hotel simultaneously. Attendance was up slightly this year with 76 percent of possible delegates present (last year it was 72 percent). Manage- ment. Financial and Direct- ors reports were presented by C.E.O. Julian Smith; Treasurer Frank Deleit and President Bob Coulthard respectively. A comprehen- sive Question period was provided at which an opportunily was given delegates to pose Questions to anyone in the U.C.0.0rganization elected At the evening banquet Senator Hazen Argue associated with the Federal Wheat Board proved to be a very gifted speaker as he spoke with some 'authority and broad knowledge right off the cuff on various aspects of Cooperative in- terests throughout Canada. Corporate Sectretary of U.C.0. Bob Wright and Mrs. Wright were paid tribute for the 23 years of service. Bob has provided U.C.0. Bob is scheduled to retire in June 1982. Other Helites of the U.C.0O.convention of a more social 'nature were' Mon nights coffee party, the ladies Luncheon on Tues. and a Luncheon tendered to all young couples who have attended. Pork Producers Annual Christmas party at the Holi- day Inn in Toronto this week following their monthly Pork Producers Meeting. Brenda and Terry also took in a Noon Luncheon at the Royal York for those formerly involved in the Young Couples prog- ram. Mr. Howard Malcolm and Mr. Doug Farrel spent a couple of days this week in Ottawa discussing Pork Stabilization on a Federal level.
