January 13, 1982 The rink skipped by Shirley Lee [second fron left] won the annual Stedmans Ladies Bonspiel Saturday at the Port Perry Curling Club. Bob Barr presented the trophy to the winning skip on behalf of Stedmans' NOVICE HOUSE LEAGUE by Don Steele Kinsmen -5 Reliable Plumbing - 4 In an exciting high scoring match, Kinsmen downed Reliable Plumbing 5 - 4 on Saturday. The Plumbers scored first, then went ahead 2 - 0 at the mid point in the period. Kinsmen evened the score at 2 by the end of the first period. The Plumbers went ahead 11 seconds into the second period, but Kins- men came right back a minute later to tie the game at 3. Kinsmen took the lead in the game for the first time with 5 minutes remaining in. the game, only to see the Plumbers tie it 42 seconds later. With 1:24 left, the Kinsmen got the go-ahead goal on a solo effort by Craig Leask. Jody Logan scored all four markers for Reliable Plumbing with assists going to Scott Foster, Dwayne Empringham, and David Talbot. Sean - McEnaney scored four times for Kins- men with assists going to John Collins (2) and Ross Stainton. Greg Kyle and Donny Hughes both played Minor Hockey well in their respective nets. After a scoreless first period, and end to end action, Sportsland finally went on the board on a goal by Carl Payne who slipped the puck past Brown, after taking a pass from Andrew Perenean, at 1:37.
