Extremely low temperatures [-30 celcius] and high winds Saturday night and all day Sunday left many motorists stranded and towing companies busy. The weatherman is calling for more of the frosty weather for the remainder of the week, so dress warmly and keep your car plugged in if you can. Cold snap hits area (From pagel) conditions early in January four years ago when Scugog was hit by one of the worst winter storms in memory. However, this time around there was just. a small amount of snowfall. The weather forecast says that temperatures should begin to moderate by today (Wed., January 13) but don't put your long johns away. § _All of Canada and the northern half of the United States have been in an icy winter's grip, and the wind chill factor in the American midwest sent the tempera- tures to a bone numbing 100 degrees below zero F. Let's hope for the sake of Scugog residents -and all those in Ontario that the mid-west storm is not heading in this direction.
