Colourful costumes, lots of well-known "char- acters" and a "New York, New York' theme will all be part of the annual Ice Revue by the Port Perry Figure Skating Club this Friday and Saturday evening at the Scugog Arena. April 21, 1982 -- 13 Skating club's annual ice show on this weekend "New York, New York," is the theme this year for the 24th annual Ice Revue by the Port Perry Skating Club. About 175 young skaters will take part in this spec- tacular presentation which will depict the Rockettes show, a stroll through Cen- tral Park, a look at a Broad- way play, and a visit to a Night Club. During the first half of the Revue, the younger skaters in the club will be made up in costumes of some of the more famous citizens of New York: Superwomen, Batmen and Robins, Wonderwomen, the Incredible Hulk, Super- men, and the Villains. It should all make for a colourful and entertaining spectacle on ice, under the direction and choreography of Rick and Barb Stevens. Guest skaters this year will be Gayle Coughtry and Troivo Heinsaar of the Toronto Cricket Club who will give dance and free style performances; and Scott Maybee of Oshawa. Sandra Blakney of the Scugog Choral Society and the Borelians will entertain with several vocal numbers. The Ice Revue will be held on two evenings, Friday and Saturday of this week (April 23 and 24) with the curtain going up at 8:00 PM. Tickets will be on sale at the door at the Scugog Arena in Port Perry for both perform- ances. The Revue will be a fine evening of entertainment sure to delight all members of the family.
