by Harvey Malcolm Residents of the Janetville United Church charge will be pleased that they will be afforded an opportunity to see and hear again Rev. Jim Sommerville, now a United Church minister in London, Ont. He is scheduled to be the theme Speaker at the 2 day Festival of Faith to be held in Oakwood United Church on Apr. 23 and 24th. Rev. Sommerville was the popular minister at the Janetville Charge several years ago. Since that time, he has had an illustrious career and many varied experiences in his assoc- iation with 'Compassion', an international Missionary service organization having travelled extensively in foreign countries. Sorry to learn Mrs. Hazel Whittaker of Lindsay (an aunt of Mrs. Howard Malcolm) was taken from Lindsay to Toronto General Hospital for further obser- vation and treatment. All join Hazel a speedy recovery to good health, Easter Sunday was ob- served at Yelverton United with almost a capacity crowd in attendance despite weather that was anything but conductive to Easter finery. In deference to the occasion, a choir was assembled aided and abetted by our ministers fraulein - Mrs. Fransky and Mr, Jack Gordon of Janetville and provided two enjoyable numbers "Prayer in the Gateway to Heaven' and "In the Garden' assisted by Mrs. Ernistine Henderson at the electric organ. A number of visitors were present on the occasion while visiting with their families on the long week end. Mr. ahd Mrs. Jim Beggs and family of Port Elgin with the Norman Wilsons and Mrs. Ann Hurren and Holly and with Jim's family in Pontypool, Mrs. Etta Robin- son of Caven, Mrs. Gladys Henderson of Bethany, Mr. and Mrs. David Henderson and Mr. Paul Henderson of Just as we can look back with 1 we can now look with pri T.0. and the Robinson family were Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Ray Robinson checking out the new great grandchild, Mark Raymond Russo. The new babe and his parents, Judy and Frank Russo also attended the Easter Service. Mr. arid Mrs. Randy Long- field and family of Bramp- ton, visited with Linda's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Gray and brother, Mr. and Mrs. Brian Gray and family. Agnes Howe provided a short prayer in tribute to her memory. Mrs. Janet Spenceley based her Devotion on the Easter theme of Christs suffering and crucifixtion which was" followed with an appropriate hymn. Minutes were read and the treasurer acknowledged a generous donation from Howard McMullen to the U.C.W. for their assistance following the funeral in providing lunch, $50.00 was donated to the Friendship Committee and Thank you (Turnto page 29)
