On Friday the Dayes attended the funeral of a cousin in Oshawa, Mrs. Arthur Wren, Anniversary Celebrated Our heartiest congrat- ulations to Orrie and Helen Robinson of Nestleton who celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on Sat- urday, June 12, in Nestleton - Community Centre with a fine number on hand to extend 'best wishes" for many more such occasions. The party was "hosted" by their family and was a complete surprise to them. A delicious supper was enjoyed at 10:30 p.m, Orrie and Helen were the recipients of beautiful gifts from family and friends. Our warmest wishes! Gardening A Pleasure The avid gardeners from Oshawa - Grant, Merna and Cathy Cawker were out Sun- day at the farm and pretty well finished the planting operation for this year. They were dinner guests with Sam and Mabel Cawker. Congratulations Very "warmest wishes" to the Port Perry Star Co. Ltd. for their latest accomplish- ment in winning three national awards. We are so proud for them, and having a fine weekly within the surrounding community is beneficial to all. Nestleton United Church Women The U.C.W. met at the home of Mrs. Gwen Malcolm, Tuesday, June 8 at 2 p.m. with 13 members and 1 visitor present. A warm welcome was extended to all by president Mrs. Mabel Cawker, opening with the regular hymn followed by "A recipe for a good relation- ship" and a tip on dieting. A most effective worship service on 'Missions' in keeping with the study topic was presented by Mrs. Doris Rohrer. Scripture taken from 1 John 4:18 - 21. Hymn "In Christ there is no East or West" closing with Prayer. Mrs. Neta Fish prepared an interesting paper on China telling of the Mission- ary work carried out in that country by the United Church of Canada, the mode of living in China, standard diet, and so on. The pro- gramme consisted of a humorous skit entitled "Tell Me, Doctor", involving three members, Mrs. Neta Fish (Doctor), Mrs® Barbara Weir (Nurse) and Mrs. Gwen Malcolm (Patient). Members were well enter- tained! : The roll call was answered by naming a Missionary. Acting Secretary Mrs. Jean Williams read the minutes and correspondence and cards were signed for a hospital patient and a shut- in. Treasurer Mrs. Neta Fish gave a satisfactory financial - statement. Business Ladies decided not to have an "'outing" in July due to a busy month. A motion was made that the U.C.W. members give their support re-church roof - to be left to the discretion of the executive. A reminder: members are asked to save Canada Packer Labels, Used stamps, Used eye-glasses during the summer months to turn in at the September meeting. Members are also asked to visit - newcomers, lonely, aged, sick, shut-ins, etc. Plans were made for the Flea market, June 12th. The- U.C.W. decided to pay for the Sunday School prizes re- picnic on Sunday, June 13. Meeting closed, and an _ enjoyable half hour was spent having tea and social- izing, Mesdames Doris Rohrer, Evelyn Edgerton and Neta Fish in charge of refreshments assisted by the hostess. Mrs. Jean Williams extended the courtesy. Trust all members will have a safe, happy, relaxing summer and be ready in September for a busy fall. Nestleton Presbyterian Church The regular Sunday morning worship service, June 13 at 10 a.m-was very well attended. Rev.
