According to Chief Lab- oratory Technologist, Zoe Allan, the $3,000 Nikon 'microscope has two more objectives or levels of magnification than the old one and is capable of adaption to a camera to take photo micrographs. The microscope will be used primarily for the exam- ination of white and red blood cells. It will aid tech- nicians in determining the cause of anaemia or other diseases in red blood cells and can show changes in the white blood cells number and proportion. Mrs. Allan told the Star that approximately 100 different test procedures are Seagrave and by Barb MacDonald Roy and Marilyn Puckrin hosted a family picnic at their farm last weekend. Fred's niece, Judy Padding- ton and her son, John from Calgary, and Craig Roger- son from Sudbury were guests of the family. Every- one enjoyed the day despite the bad weather. Some members of the Sea- grave Turkey Power and Greenbank ladies teamed up and entered the Sid Landry Lob Ball Tournament this past weekend in Uxbridge. Along with excellent coach- ing from Frank Hedges and Dan Harris, it was a very Prince Albert Visiting with Jim Mitchell last week was his friend, John Hitchens of Los Angeles, California. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Canning and family have returned home from a motor trip to Northern Ontario and Western Provinces. While in Alberta they visited with Vivian's mother and sisters. The staff of seven consisting of four full-time, and two part-time registered technologists, as well as one part-time lab assistant, handle over 7,000 individual tests each month, The expansion of the hospital planned in 1983 will be greatly appreciated by lab staff who anticipate better working conditions. Paul, a resident of Seagrave died suddenly last week in Sturgeon Falls and will be buried in Sea- forth on Tuesday.
