Champs. Saturday morning the MoJacks came up against Bracebridge, this game went 10 innings before Port Perry won 8-7. Johnny Miller was the hero of the game when he hit a long ball as he rounded third ,the third base man stepped in front of him, the umpire ruled that he had caused interference and sent Johnny home for the winning run. Johnny Miller had a single, double and home run. Greg Warriner had 3 singles, Craig Menzies had 2 singles, Jeff Cockerton, David Culbert and Bobby Orr each had a single. Dave Burnett had a double and a single. Jeff Cockerton and Dave Burnett were on the mound for the MoJacks. The next game was against Jordon who won the championship last year. Our first 10 batters struck out before we could get anything going. Ron Brown hit a good double to bring home Dave Burnett who had got on base with an error. Steve Durham also had a double to bring Ron home. In the next inning, Craig Menzies had a single and Greg Warriner hit a home run to make the Squirts score 4-0. Dave Burnett had a triple but was left on base. Dave also pitched this game. Jordon came back by scoring 2 runs in the 6th and 3 in the 7th to win 5-4. After such an exciting game, it was very hard for our MoJacks to get up for their 3rd game of the day against New Hamburg. Dave Burnett had a double. Johnny Miller had 2 singles, Jeff Cockerton had a single and also pitched in this game, the final score was 6-1 for New Hamburg. Congratulations to the MoJacks and their coaches with a little better umpiring we'd have been playing Sun- day for the championship. You also find that the diamonds and facilities in Port Perry are excellent compared to some. The coaches and parents are to be congratulated for their constant support through the ball season, without people like these minor ball would not be.
