Hymn 562 was sung, followed by a respons- ive reading and prayer. The offering was received and Brenda Gibson gave a read- ing '"'"We're Thankful'. Brenda then expressed some thoughts about Thanks- giving. Norine then closed the devotional with a poem "Reasons for Thanks- giving"'. The business meeting was - opened by president Helen Thomson, who again welcomed members and visitors. The U.C.W. purpose was repeated and the roll call was answered. All were in favour of sponsoring any young people wishing to attend the Toc Alpha Con- ference to be held at the Skyline Hotel in Toronto from December 27 to 30. Three dozen U.C. Calendars will be ordered. A donation of money will be sent to the Leprosy Mission. Different Committees have been set up for the Fall Bazaar to be held on October 30 from 1 - 4 o'clock. Helen wondered whether the Committee of Nancy Dempsey and Dot Hooker could have a baby sitting service set up for Thanksgiving Sunday. Any- one wishing to volunteer to baby sit during the church service should contact Nancy. Brenda introduced Erla Hancock, an idependent Beauty Consultant for Mary Kay Cosmetics. Velma Foster was the winner of a complimentary facial and other sample winners were Mildred Thomson and Marjorie Beaton. Lunch was then served. Christian Woman's Club to organize Keen interest has been generated in this area for having a Christian Women's Club started and plans are underway for this to become a reality in October.
