Leatherdale On Tuesday, Nov. 9th the Childrens Arena in Oshawa, The Port Perry Legion Pee Wee's played an exhibition game with The Oshawa Rangers. Brad Menzies assisted by John Lally put Port within one goal again on a power play, but due to time the game had to be called with 7 minutes remaining. Who knows what the score might have been, the way our guys have been turning it on in the third period. Friday, Nov. 12th, in their first encounter of the season, The Legion Pee Wee's hosted Oak Ridges. Port controlled the first period in Oak Ridges end but succeeded in scoring only one goal due to a super stand-up goalie with a very fast glove hand. Brad Menzies, assisted by Warren Geer and Shawn Nanay accounted for Port being up by one at the end of the first period. The only scoring was by Oak Ridges in the second, Port playing a strong third period popped in two goals, the first by Andrew Steele assisted by Steve Connors and Scott Feasby. John Lally gave Port a 3-1 lead assisted by Brad Traves and Scott Feasby. Oak Ridges elected to pull their goalie in favor of six attackers on a power play, bringing them within a one goal span. Brad Traves playing a strong defensive stick handling behind the Oak Ridges net wound down the last 35 seconds, prevent- ing Oak Ridges from pulling their goalie in an attempt to tie the game. Nov. 13th, The Legion Pee Wee's played Stouffville, as in their previous encounter the score was 6-5 in favour of our hometown team. It was a high scoring first period with seven goals finding the mark, four of these by Stouff- ville. Mike Sorley put Port on the scoreboard on a rebound from Warren Geer. Brad Menzies made it 2-1 on a power play goal assisted by Geer and Sorley; less than one minute later Stouffville had evened the score. Mark Barkey unassisted put Port back in the lead, only to have Stouffville score twice more before the period ended.
