bY Sl 3a hat rr PPHS Junior boys romp fo easy win by Kathleen Taylor It's Christmas! The holidays may be closing in at P.P.H.S. but the Rebel athletes haven't gone on vacation yet! The Rebel spirit is rising with more and more fans attending the boys basketball games regularly. A total team effort from our senior boys basketball team produced a smooth and easy 50-30 victory over Don- evan on Wednesday, Dec- ember 15. Ken Elliot emerg- ed high scorer in the game with 14 points and Brian Tysick and Scott Wallace were top ball stealers. This spirited team was not so lucky on Friday, December 17 when they lost to the number one team, Clarke, 71-52. Aggressive offense and defense by Scott Wallace, Ken Elliot, Mark Phillips, Pete Christie and Brian Tysick kept the score close. The junior boys basketball team came up with their fourth straight win on Fri- day, December 17, defeating Clarke 51-24. Top scorers were Rob Burnett, Colin Stone and Jamie Lane. Carol Anne Elliot, Liz Luke and Sandra Liston re- presented the curling pro- gramme in the Girls Junior Tankard at Norwood. Although they were not successful, they curled extremely well. Norm Mac- Kinnon and Dean Haugen were members of a rink that represented the Port Perry Curling club at Unionville in the winter games comp- etition. I wish to extend Seasons Greetings to all P.P.H.S. to students and teachers in the hope that you all have a safe and happy holiday. Pee Wee B's reverse score Tuesday, December 7th saw the George Stone Pee Wee B's at Bobcageon. The '"Stones" came home on the losing end of a 3-1 score. Bobcageon opened up the game with a goal in the first game with a goal in the first period. Port tied up the game in the second period, Jamie Menzies scored the goal, assists were earned by Ian Smith and Jim Vernon. Bobcageon took the lead again later in the second period. Frustation was the name of the game for Port, try as they might they just couldn't get on top of the play. They had lots of shots on net but good goalkeeping by Bob- cageon kept the 2-1 lead for his team. Another goal in the third period credited to Bob- cageon ended the 3-1 hockey game. : On Monday December 13th, Port hosted Bobcageon for a return game and this time Port was on the winning end of a 3-1 score. The first period was score- less with both teams playing well. Bobcageon opened the scoring in the second which was short lived as Jamie 'Menzies put one in the net for Port, assisted by Paul Wylie and Greg Stapleton four min- "utes later Jamie scored again of a beautiful pass from Mike Toye. Kevin Gibson got the final goal of the game for the "Stones" with Mike Toye picking up his second goal. | ELEANOR'S FLOWERS May the serenity and the joy of the Christmas season inspire you with the spirit of love and peace. compliments of A reat $s oT MDa on SRNR .
