President Rika Wygerde welcomed everyone and John Kingstone offered Grace. Then all sat down to a boun- tiful Pot Luck Supper. The Bashful Beaus square dancers with their caller Glen Dowson entertained with a number of frolicking dances, which was much enjoyed. Mr. Allen Foss, West Hil, president of District 17 install- ed the 1983 executive Past Pres. Rika Wygerede. Presi- dent John Kingstone 1st vice, Rika Wygerde 2nd vice, Paul Johannsen Secretary, Claudia McDiarmid Treasurer, Kathaleen Petrie Directors, Grace Bajema, Ida Hortig, Kathaleen Petrie, Claudia McDiarmid, Allice Turcotte, Pat Kingstone, Shirley Love, Beryl Stock, Bernice Mairs and Hanka Bandstra. A number of lovely ter- rariums were displayed and judged by those present. First prize went to Grace Bajema, 2nd prize to Shirley Love. Also sketches for 1983 year book cover were judged and. Claudia McDiarmid's was chosen. The Analda Nursery Trophy was presented to the winner of the most points for 1982 Alice Turcotte, as well as a silver dish. Congratulations Alice! Prizes in pottery made in Nestleton at the Pine Ridge Pottery were presented for the vegetable and flower garden competition which Open House at Auto Museum The Canadian Automotive Museum will open its doors to the public for the Second An- nual Open House on Sunday, January 2nd, 1983, between the hours of 12:00 noon and 6:00 p.m. The public are invited to _take a walk through time and view our "New Look." We have vehicles and memorabilia from the mid 1800s to the present day. We also have an excellent "display of music boxes, in- cluding the Tune Disc, Cob, Roller Organ and an Edison Phonograph, most of which are completely operable and will be demonstrated. These are from the collection of Thomas Bouckley and date as far back as 1820. A performance during the afternoon given by the Oshawa Choral Society will add to an enjoyable day for the citizens of Oshawa who wish to bring their family and friends. The Oshawa Choral Society will be presenting a program of song from Cole.Pgrter's "Anything Goes," a preview of their performance to be given as the Eastdale Col- legiate on January 21, 22, 27, 28 and 29. Admission is Free, so bring the family and friends and end the holiday season with a bang. Mr. Paul Johannsen has donated two beautiful puter trophies, which we will be competing for with our gardens for some years to come, Ann Woud and Joe Frey ate "their supper on the lucky plates. 'Pine Ridge Garden Club meeting President Rika thanked everyone for their co- operation and wished Season's Greetings to all. She also reminded us of the bus trip to Scarborough Town Centre and Pool and Patio Show on Feb. 25, leaving Nestleton at 9 o'clock. Bus and show will cost $6.00.
