On Saturday Rev. and Mrs. Dale Davis held Open House at the Manse. A large number of residents attend- ed and enjoyed the hospital- ity of Mr. and Mrs. Davis. Their family joined them on this happy occasion. On Wednesday evening Miss Susan Sheen's apart- ment was the scene of much activity. She was hosting a German-French party. Enjoying a co-cultural dinner were Marilyn Green, Howard Bailey, Sandra Johnston and Elizabeth Kelly. There were 16 tables for the Christmas Card Party on 'Tuesday evening. Winners _ were 1. There were many special prizes and MAYOR draws because of the Christmas season. On Saturday afternoon quite a number of relatives and friends from the Black- stock area attended the Open House to celebrate the fortieth Wedding Anniver- sary of Earl and Ruby Trewin of Enniskillen. This happy gathering was held at the Hayden. Community Centre. A family dinner was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Trewin and Kelly following the Open House. A capacity congregation attended the Christmas Service of the United Church on Sunday morning. The Junior Choir sang The Birds and The Beasts. Ted Kemp read the scripture readings. Rev. D. Davis preached a fine sermon on What will you see onChristmas morning? The regular choir gave a lovely anthem Joy to People. Organist Linda Kyte was back again following the recent birth of her daughter. On Wednesday evening at 7:30 the Blackstock Sunday School Candlelight Service will be held and on Friday, Christmas Eve at 8 p.m. the pastoral charge. Christmas Eve Family Carol Service will be held at blackstock United Church. Take note of these dates and times if these services are of interest to you and your family. Mr. and Mrs. Bob Kyte, Bradley and Meghan were Sunday evening dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs. David Kyte and family. Good wishes go to Murray Byers who is undergoing hip surgery in Oshawa Hospital on Tuesday of this week. Glad to report that Mrs. Helen Bradburn is home again following her stay in Port Perry Hospital. Plans are underway for the Men's Curling Bonspiel next Monday, Dec. 27 and the Ladies' Jitney on Dec. 28. If you are interested, there may be still a few last minute openings.
