Mrs. Wilbur said this showed the NDPs desire to hear what people of ridings such as Durham York are feeling about many issues. In her report on a re- cent gathering of the NDP Provincial Caucus and Executive she noted that there are many in- dications that the NDP is picking up votes from the Liberals particularly in this area. Mrs. Wilbur's com- ments were part of a meeting of the Durham York NDP held in Kes- wick, Wed. Sept. 14th. Members at the meeting also outlined plans for a fall campaign designed to look at how Liberal and Tory legislative policies have hurt this country. NDPers will be em- phasizing the many legislative firsts of the NDP both provincially and federally. Members noted that the four main issues are- medicare, pensions, job security and nuclear disarmament. They will show how Liberal and Conservative stands in these areas differ from those of the NDP. ey | Sr LOETNE DEAESASEL XRF AON SHH : ' oo . nr ' ' . : £50 & « a EERE a YEN. dled hi t+ A foi PRT leh ALAR, IAT ARO TWA LILY CA TAN FANS f | Biase Add] DLAI N '3 Yo ; e EL ANE Ni / Y h le on x ' rnd vila el IR al A p OJ Adie TE a 4 PORT PERRY STAR -- Tuesday, Sept. 20, 1983 -- 33 Hello Seagrave, I'm new Seagrave and Area News by Liz Smith What a great way for a new correspondent to start: I'd like to thank all those who phoned or dropped in news to me, including my fellow "writers". 1 hope we continue to get such marvellous co- operation.
