Fire safety has been discussed in the classes and parents are asked to continue this discussion at home. Coming events include a walk to a local farm to get a pumpkin to be decorated for Hallowe'en and a dress- up the week prior to Hallowe'en. The new directors were sworn in at the last Board meeting. They are Janis Pashley, Karen , Leeming and Ellen Lamb. The nursery school will be catering to approx- imately three dinners for the Lion's Club this year. Plans are underway for our annual pancake breakfast with Santa on Sunday, Dec. 4, the children's Christmas Party on Dec. 16, and a float in the Port Perry Santa Claus Parade on Nov. 26. We're moving alogg with our Hallowfest dance preparations for Oct. 29. This is a com- bination Hallowe'en- Octoberfest dance. Those attending are invited to either dress up or come casually. A prize will be given to the best costume - male and female. Tickets are $12.00 per couple and are available by calling Marlene McKee at 986-5264. After singing We Plough the Fields and Scatter, she read Psalm 34 and several articles on keeping with the season. Roll call was an article from the Observer. Aileen Byers read the minutes. Three new fry- ing pans have been bought for Camp Quin- Mo-Lac. Hey kids! Want to be scared? Hey Kids! Do you like to be scared? If you don't, don't join the after school Scary Reading Club at the Library. It starts Wed. Oct. 19th at 4:00. We will be making scary things, reading scary books, seeing scary films ete.
