A bluegrass concert, with all the hoedown home-pickin' normally associated with blue- grass, will be shaking the walls starting at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free. So what's the catch? In case you didn't already know, this week Manchester UCW hold fall meeting by Bernice Dobson The fall meeting was held at the home of Mrs. Melba McKay assisted by Mrs. Ejleen Tap- scott. Mrs. Esther Young, a sister of Melba McKay gave a talk on '"Music and the part it plays in the church". She also spoke on the work the UCW did in her home church in Nelson, B.C. The ladies participated in a short memorial service in memory of the late Viola Johnson. Two Oshawa Presby- terial UCW meetings will be held this month, Monday, Oct. 17th 6:30 10:00 p.m. at West- minster United Church, Oshawa; Tuesday, Oct. 25th 9:30 a.m. -3 p.m. at Blackstock United Church. At both meet- ings, theme speaker is Evelyn Lock, Peter- borough. On Sunday, Nov. 13th, the Scarborough Kiwanis Club will be coming to Manchester for their annual - Armistice service. They will be supplying the music and speaker.
