Congratulations this week to Don and Elaine Camtell on the birth of their baby boy, Donald. - A wee girl Janice-Lyn joined the Allen and Lilla Clarkson home, I'm sure Simone will be very "happy to have a baby sister. The Greenbank Hall Committee would like to "Thank All" the judges, parents and children for making our 'Halloween Bash" such a big success. The Great Talking Pumpkin put in a special appearance downstairs along with several witches, clowns, animals and monsters of all sorts. All the" children played many games and received lots of prizes, then enjoyed cake and pop for the grand finale. The judges had a difficult time choosing winners for the costume parade as all the costumes were first class. - Thanks again one and all for your help and support. We were pleased to have so many visitors and the church filled for --- the * Sunday . evening service. The partici- pation in singing of the beautiful old hymns was so nice to hear. The Wright Singers and the Just Four songs was a "Living Testi- mony of their Faith". All in all it was a wonderful evening of gospel music. Later all enjoyed a time of fellow- ship.. It was almost. ten when the last folk left. Next Sunday Nov. 6th will be the 87th Anniver- sary Service when Rev. John Mitson will be the guest speaker. The service will be at 11 a.m. as Seagrave and Pine- dale will be joining with us for morning worship. The choir prepared special music. Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Simmons of Courtice were Sunday dinner guests with her mother, Mrs. verna Baird. Ladies have made arrangements to have nursery staffed each Sunday. TIA VTVATN Group plans swim party Epsom Area News By Jean Jeffery The Youth group are planning a swim party at Uxpool Sat. Nov 5 then will go to Andy Graham's home for a social hour. We certainly appreci- ated the selection by Goodwood Choir at the morning anniversary service. Thanks, it was much appreciated. In the evening the service was in charge of Rev. Ray Edwards of Oshawa and Epsom Choir sang. We surely did miss Donna Van Veghel and hope she will soon feel better. All enjoyed a visit with the Edwards family after - the service. Rev. Richard and Joyce Luchuk Leah, and wee Simon of Wiarton have been visiting with her parents Earl and Marie Wilson for a week. On Sunday Marlene and Ian Archibald of Udora had lunch with Earl and Marie then all attended the Commiss- ionary service at Clare- mont for Rev. and Mrs. Blair Clark who are leaving for Indonesia on Tuesday. We were pleased to see our young people home from college for the weekend. Miss Kathy Haddock of Uxbridge was visiting with Stacy Brown for the weekend. Paul and Shirley Baster and girls visited Garth and Marg Spencer and family in Kitchener on Sunday. UCW Fall Rally will be Monday, Nov. 7 at Trinity Church. A lot of activity centered around the Community Centre and Church in the past week. On Tuesday, the Friend- ly Visitors Group held a Hallowe'en party for their 'members, which I'm sure they all enjoyed. } Thursday evening the euchre players arrived. On Saturday evening about seventy-five peo- ple gathered at the hall for a surprise party for three great fellows- Keith Elliott, Chuck Willes, and John Brough, all celebrating the big 40 birthdays. O What a Par- ty. Happy Birthday fellows. Sunday morning church service was well attended with special guests, the Girl Guides, leaders and' friends. Paula" Willes has been working very hard and was presented "The All Round Cord" by her mother the highest award in Guiding. After the church service lunch was served at the com- munity centre for special guests and friends. Con- gratulations Paula - a job well done. We must remember brother Mark as I hear he had a birthday party on Friday. A busy week - for mom, as she has also been entertaining friends Alice and George Wallace of the U.S.A. for three weeks. Sunday evening over three hundred people en- joyed a beef dinner in the church basement. Many willing hands made this a success. The commit- tee would like to thank everyone who who helped in any way, especially everyone who bought tickets. Congratulations to to Ben and Florence Smith who celebrated their 55th Wedding Anniversary on Oct. 31st. What a way to celebrate Hallowe'en. The Beef supper at Utica wil be held Nov. 17th, note change of time. Recently Mrs. Chris Ruhl and Tina went. to - North Bay to see the newest grandchild, a daughter for Peggy and Will Burke.
