Recognizing the obvious contribution, that Cliff has made to Real Estate over his past two years as a Director on the Oshawa & District Real Estate Board, the members have promoted him to the "Number Two' position. I hope everyone had a great Christmas break; and is ready to begin the second half of _ our exciting school year. We have started back after Christmas with - one less smiling face at Port High. Sarah Forgan who spent one year wn Canada has returned' down under. Farewell Sarah, come back soon, you'll be missed by all. First on our agenda for '84 is our January exams, which began on January the 19th and will continue on the Jan- uary the 27th. Good luck. A reminder to all students who had wish- ed to apply to Comm- unity College, appli- cations should have been in to student ser- vices before the exams. Also those wishing to apply to Ryerson should be completing their applications as well, since they are due short- ly. Mid-year report cards will be given out on Feb- ruary 16th. Also students returning to Port High in September 1984 will be filling out their course selections and registration forms, which will be due on February 20th. Don'r despair Feb- ruary won't be all that bad. We have our carn- ation sales on Valen- tine's Day to look for- ward to, plus our annual winter carnival to help take care of those Feb- ruary blues. It will be held on the 17th of Feb- ruary for the second half of the day, so that means no classes! Thats all the news for now; you'll be hearing from Lisa next week Lisa Edgar Welcome back Rebels! To all of the dedicated readers of our column, no we have not all quit school. After taking a break for a couple of weeks during the Christmas holidays, we never quite got back into the swing of things. Anyway, PPHS News will be in the paper each week from now through until June. The last week and a half has been torture for most of us. As many already know, it was "cram" city last week as we studied furiously for exams, (I might add that many of us went for a week without sleep). But Rebels, you can fin- ally sign with relief and either turn on the tube or crank up the volume on the stereo because January exams are over with for another year. I hope, though, that everybody had a super weekend because after getting back exams, your week may not be so great. I might also point out, Rebels, that we are now more than half way through the school year! So let's all work hard and participate lots because it will be June before we know it. Well, that's about all I have to say just now, other than that all school activities will soon be back on sche- dule, as will the late buses. So until next week, everybody! On Sunday Les and Grace Beacock travell- ed over to Shirley Road and enjoyed dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Bryan Beacock and Philip. If you see Andrew Pereman on Tuesday, Jan. 31 and he is all smiles well - that is because he is celebrat- ing his 9th birthday. On Sunday Andrew got to take in the Oshawa Generals hockey game at the Civic Auditorium in Oshawa one of his Birthday wishes. Happy Birthday Andrew. The annual congreg- ational meeting was held for Prince Albert United Church on Sun- day, Jan. 29, a.. pot-luck dinner was held before the meeting and enjoyed by all. Last Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Terry Hodgins and Heather along with Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Cherrie travelled up to Bramalea to have dinner with Kevin Hod- gins and to celebrate Grandpa's birthday. Mr. Cherrie was 82. Belated birthday wishes to you Mr. Cherrie from Prince Albert. ~ The Sportie-Q-Club met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Olsen on Tuesday night. They all brought their wives with them and enjoyed an evening of visiting and games. Thursday evening was euchre night at Prince Albert Hall - Ladies high was Hazel Plitz, second was Gertie Dennie and low was Gladys Slack. Over on the mens side well I see they needed the ladies help again, high was Mildred Thompson, second was Carl Gimb- lett and low was Ed Donnelly. Eleven tables were filled we are pleased to say and come on out again. Thursday Feb. 2 for some fun - its warm and cozy in the hall. Mr. and Mrs. Merv Pugh held Open House at their Simcoe Street home in Prince Albert on Saturday, Jan. 28 for their son Dennis and his new bride of one month. Forty-five of their family and friends attended, some from Michigan, Toronto, Trout Creek and most from Port Perry and area. A family dinner was enjoyed in the evening.
