This was not one of Port's better games as they could never really get on track and ended up los- ing 4-1. Scoring for Port was Mike Fluke un- assisted. John Moore played well between the pipes. the next game was played on Sunday, February 12th in Ux- bridge. This was a lot better effort by Port, but a goal in the last eleven seconds of over- time enabled Uxbridge to win 5 to 4. Starting into the third period really put the pressure on but Kevin Cearns came up with a few key saves until Brad Menzies from Durham scored the 3rd goal. Not long after Ux- bridge tied it. Port's Rob Baker assisted by Dave Culbert pulled ahead again. After Uxbridge making it a 44 game, Steve Durham from Dave Culbert gave us another lead which Uxbridge tied up for the final time. Seniors catch gold by Amy Ware On Thursday, Feb. 9 the midget, junior and senior basketball teams travelled to Bowman- ville H.S. for their last game of regular season play. The midgets play- ed a great game up until the last quarter where careless fouls and turn- overs cost them the game. Final score Port 38, Bowmanville 41. Top scorer was Dave Burn- ett with 13 points. The juniors season ended on a winning note as they slipped by Bowmanville 53-52. Top scorers were Lee Wilbur - 16 points and Darryl Musselman 19 points. The seniors gave it their all, but just couldn't close the gap as Bowmanville surpassed Port by a score of 63-31. The seniors came up with their first wins of the season on Feb. 11 at the Uxbridge senior Invitational Basketball tournament. They defeated Brock and Stouffville H.S. to catch a gold medal in the C division. Congratul- ations! Good luck to all three teams during the playoffs. The midgets played 4 games but could only manage to win 1 game on Feb. 7. the volleyball teams hosted Durham Christian H.S. The juniors played three quick games and were victorious. The midgets also played three games, they too were victorious 15-5,15-4,15-7. On Feb. 9 the volleyball teams hosted our rivals from Cartwright. The juniors extended their winning streak to 8-0 as they beat Cartwright 15-1, 15-1, 15-2. The midgets also played three games and were victorious in three.
