This happened to Mrs. Phyllis Tamlin of Cam- bray, who was invited to speak at the U.C.W. Unit Rally in Port Perry United Church last Tuesday May 8. Mrs. Tamlin, an energetic, outgoing, friendly enthusiastic person gave those present a glimpse into her busy life, as she and her husband face the chall- enge to give her child- ren as normal a life as possible. Mrs. Tamlin has three "children. Trevor is 16, Arleigh 15 and Darryl is 9. The two younger ones were born deaf, and are students at the Belle- ville School for the deaf. They are able to come home each weekend, and are able to partici- pate in Community act- ivities then. Mixing with children who have nor- mal hearing is an important part of their lives. They communi- cate mainly in sign language. Phyllis Tamlin is a Christian and very active in Church and the Community.
