Immaculate Conception Catholic School proudly announced the winners of its annual Science Fair recently. Top winners included this smiling group: that's Elizabeth Connell on top; Lien Tang Con- nell and Caroline De Bruyn in the middle; and Erin O'Toole, Jeff Tait and Tuan Tang Connell at the bottom. Other winners included Jason Ormerod, Shelly Brousseau, Elaine Surnoski, Sophie Brygman, Brenda Poirier, Nicole Cliche, Mari Nash, Theresa Pallot- ta, Kyle Russell, Gabrielle Ormerod, Halie Vogel, Laurel Rioval. Christine Mueller and John Connell. Congratulations! Racing down the Nonquon Seagrave and Area News by Liz Smith The village was a beehive of activity this weekend! Some of our local inhabitants spent a good part of Saturday paddling down the Nonquon as part of the great canoe race. And of course their respective families spent their time trying to be at the right bridge at the right time. (I never made it once!). The Seagrave Beaver Colony enjoyed their day at the *'Circus" - the Pineridge District Beaveree that is. This day of fun and games took place at the Port Perry Fair Grounds. Girls and leaders of the 1st Seagrave Brown- ie pack took part in their District Brownie Revel in Cannington. Who ever said little girls couldn't enjoy acting like wild Indians. The Brownies had also entertained their mothers and guests at a Talent Night last Tues- day May 29th. The Brownie leaders would like to thank the mothers for their co-operation and help all year, and are looking forward to see- ing all the Brownies next fall. The Guides travelled to Canada's Wonderland Friday night, camped overnight and enjoyed the park on Saturday. And of course the Annual Seagrave Mari- posa Lob Ball Tourna- ment and Park Opening was held in the park on Saturday. With so many events to choose from I doubt if anyone was bored this weekend! Mr. and Mrs. Wally Keene from California recently visited with his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Keene. They had not seen each other for 27 years, so it was an interesting reunion. The Hatch and Mas- chke families are thrill- ed that Elizabeth and Doug have a new little son, named Ryan John, born in Oshawa on May 31st. A brother for Randy. Heather and Kimber- ley Wray were hostesses Sunday June 3 for a bridal shower for Jill Petite, fiance of Paul lihdge. The shower was held in Toronto and hostess duties were shared with Ellen, Rebecca and Emma Illidge. Last Wednesday the Seagrave General Store Squirts won their season opener against the Greenbank Spencers Feed 20-12. The miscellanous community shower for Laurie Rodgers will be held at the Se: grave United Church on Fri- day, June 8th at 8:00 p.m. Ladies please bring lunch. There is another wedding in the near future and a community shower for that bride is planned. The shower for Carol Sturman will be held at the home of Mrs. Frank Branton on Sun- day June 24th at 2:00 p.m. If the weather is nice, please bring a lawn chair. A reminder that there will be no Sunday School and Church i» Sengorave this Sunday to allow for attendance at Pine- dale's Sunday School anniversary. Remember swimm- ing registration takes place on Saturday June 16 at 2:00 at Brandwya Pool (Brantons). The next meeting of the Good Neighbours will be held at Mrs. Martha Volmans on Tuesday June 19th. at 8:15.
