Fair board official Jack Woodward says nearly 30,000 men, women and children converged on the village to attend the 73rd annual fair which feat- ured something for everybody. The crowning of Miss Brooklin Fair, 17 year old Anne Halsey, start- ed the gala festivities off with a bang Thursday night and the fun con- tinued all weekend long with horses, midway, beer tent, tractors, pet shows, baby shows, Hells Drivers, Bill John- son's country music, cattle, pancakes, candy floss, goats, sheep, steam engines and harness racing. And what a weekend it was. "We really don't have any big features like you do in Port Perry", : Woodward yk "There's about 10 top- notch events, like the biggest sheep show in Ontario. It was a great weekend, weather-wise and all-round'. And when Monday morning rolled around, the fair board was already planning next year's big event. "We're still trying to clean up from this year but next year just keeps on coming!" What a day for a parade! Sunshine, s scaled-to-size lawn chairs and front row seats. Good stuff.
