Fish Guide available The 1984-85 editions of the popular publication "Guide to Eating Ontario Sport Fish" were releas- ed May 18 by Ontario En- vironment Ministry. These handbooks, published since 1978, report the accumulated results of tests for con- taminents in sport fish from inland lakes and rivers throughout On- tario and the Great Lakes. Substances tested include- mercury, PCB, mirex, dioxin ( 2,3,7,8,-- TCDD) and a range of pesticides. Consumption advice is based on analyses carried out by MOE"s laboratory on a wide range of fish species and sizes from 1270 waterbodies, in- cluding 161 locations on the Great Lakes. Health protection guidelines us- ed in this program were developed by medical specialists from Health and Welfare Canada and the Ontario Ministry of Labour. Starting with these 1984-85" editions, the guidelines will be revised and reprinted every two years. In alternate years a supplement will be published to update tests Mite baseball results June 11 Home Hardware edged Sportsland 15 to 12 with good fielding from Todd Smart for Home Hardware and good hitting and fielding with 2 home runs from Kent Jamieson of Sportsland.
