4 6 -- PORT PERRY STAR -- Wednesday, July 4, 1984 letters People working together Dear Sir: Scugog Township is a good example of what a Township should be. No wonder people from miles around can hardly wait to return on weekends or for weeks at a time. It is so refreshing in this Township to find the citizens and business people so friendly, interested and helpful with the Scugog Beaut- ification Committee. I don't see many problems in the near future for the Scugog: Beautification Committee. We are just like any new born baby. It must crawl, walk then run. Our first and second years we shall be like the new born and thén we shall run full tilt from then on. On Friday June 15th the Honourable Keith Norton Q.C: praised the community spirit of this Township for pulling together to build the new Emergency and Out-Patients Extension of the Community Memorial Hospital, Port Perry. You see the same community spirit has applied with the Scugog Beautification Comm- ittee. So a tip of the hat to all The Handicapped Dear Sir: . As the PUSH Ontario representative for the handicapped of the south east region and the Vice Chairperson of the PUSH Provincial Council, I was very pleased to note the wheelchair accessibility symbol beside the Bap- tist Church announce- ment in the last issue of your paper. I would like to congra- tulate the Baptist con- gregation of Port Perry for their recognition of the rights and needs of handicapped people. Yours truly, Jay S. Madsen, Vice Chairperson, Provincial Council, PUSH Ontario. Petro Canada (From page 5) interest loans for expan- sion, to name a few areas where help would be made available. With either of the corporate minds of Mr. Turner or Mr. Mulroney leading our country 1 leave it to the readers' - imagination as to who would be favored in a confrontation between the corporate big guy and the little indepen- dent. The New Demo- cratic Party is the only alternative to the corp orate monolopistic growth of our large Canadian and foreign controlled. companies. The New Democratic. Party would support and encourage increas- ed production and employment through small enterprises rather than the Liberal or Conservative policy of subsidizing large enter- prise for the purpose of reducing competition and jobs through corp- orate take overs. Yours truly,- Roy Grierson, Candidate, New Democratic Party, Durham - Northumberland. @ll:1dle NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING TAKE NOTICE THAT a Public Meeting of The L iquor Licence ~N Board ot Ontario will be held at the MICHAEL STARR BUILDING 33 KING STREET WEST ROOMS MH & | GROUND FLOOR OSHAWA ONTARIO on WEDNESDAY JULY 25th 1984 at the hour of 10 00 oclock in the forenoon at which time the Board will hear an application naccordance with The Liquor Licence Act. and Regulations thereunder The following establishment has applied for a licence of the class indicated and th2apphication will be entertained at the atorementioned lo ation and time Application For Additional Seating Capacity Windcrest Farms Restaurant Highway #7 & #12, Scugog Township i Manchester, Port Perry Additional Dining Lounge Facilities Licencee: Windcrest Farms Limited AND FURTHER TAKE NOTICE that any person who is resident in the municipality and who wishes to make representation relative to the application shall make their submission to the Board in writing prior to the date of the hearing. or in person at the time and place of the hearing (Copies of written submissions will be forwarded to the apphcant) Liquor Licence Board of Ontario 55 Lakeshore Boulevard East TORONTO.
