Judgement held in street death County Court Judge Frank Dunlap has re- served decision until Aug. 10 in the case of a Pickering man charged with criminal negli- gence and impaired driving in the death of an Uxbridge nurse last July 1. Dunlap said in Whitby court he accepted police evidence that Clyve De- Nyke, 41, was impaired when his car travelled more than 90 metres (300 feet) down a street closed for a street dance, then struck and killed Lois Graham, 33. The impact killed Graham instantly but her daughter, cradled in her arms, was only slightly injured. Couldn't Remember DeNyke, a moving company sales manager who lived in Uxbridge at the time, said he could not remember the accident or events immediately before or after it. Police evidence show- ed DeNyke registered 170 and 180 milligrams of alcohol per 100 milli- litres of blood in breath- alyzer tests about an hour after the 1 a.m. accident.
