---- GREENBANK by Sheila, Michelle and Heather Stop! If you read nothing else, you must read this article! "Why?" you ask. Well because this is the spot where you find out about all the exciting, wild and crazy things we do at Playground! Yes, it is true we do let the kids play in their food but only pudding! But don't you fret, we also let them work with things that will keep them clean - why just the other day we did soap sculptures and when we went to wash up we had "tiny bubbles' floating every- where! Speaking of hav- ing things floating - we made kites - well, some didn't float - actually some didn't even fly - but we had fun making them! Our fundraisers are well underway. Our walk-a-thon was a huge success and now our cake raffle is in full swing - if one of our kids comes knocking at your door to sell you a ticket, please buy one. All money collected is being used towards a special fun-filled day for Green- bank Playground only. We have a surprise trip planned - more details will follow next week. Every week we try and €ome up with new th to keep ourselves entertained for example we had a button day - you should have seen all the buttons. We. even made our own! We made felt animals and attached them to our shirts with paper clips! We made a cake this week. What do you mean "big deal?' Our cakes were special - we made them inside ice cream cones! After they cooled we iced them and decorated them and Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Redshaw of North Street, Port Perry celebrated 50 years of marriage last Saturday, July 28. The couple have lived in Port Perry for the past 13 years. On the last day of playground, we hope to have a party for the kids to celebrate the success of the fundraisers due to their hard work. We thank all of the parents and P.P. people for helping us to achieve our goals. SCUGOG Hello! Bonjour! Wel- come once again to the continuing series of '""The Young and the Innocent." Time is fly- ing by this year in playground and our end of the year's big event is just around the corner. Each morning started with a rigorous 20 min- ute workout to promote our health and fitness theme of the week. On Tuesday we had a party, a tasting party, of course, to promote healthy snacking. Everyone dipped their "Dippers" (celery and carrot sticks) into a dilly vegetable dip that was enjoyed immensely by all. We managed to devour several dozen hot dogs during our hotdog sale on Thurs- day. We ended the week with a 6 km walk-a-thon as a fundraiser. We finished the walk with smiles on our faces and a thirst quenching glass of cold lemonade. Also, romance is in blossom. Tune in next week to see if these pairs are continuing their romance - Natalie and Adam, Yvette and Daryl, Nicole and Dennis, Keith and Melissa... etc. BLACKSTOCK by Virginia, Nancy and Carol We wish we had more time To spend with all of you And watch our little * There's PORT PERRY STAR -- Tuesday, July 31, 1984 -- 15 Lots of happenings at Township playgrounds Ronnie Swimming in the glue.
