It is nice to see other parts of our beaut- iful country but also nice to come home. We spent several days with our friends, Bill and Joan Peel, and they send greetings to all their friends here. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Canning and Lesia travelled to Sault Ste. Marie last week to attend the wedding of Fred's niece. The Les Beacocks accompanied the J. Holtbys when they attended the enjoyable play "Opals Husband' at the Kawartha Theatre, Lindsay. Our popular lady in town the past couple of weeks is Mable Strong. Eight ladies from the Island UCW surprised Mable when they arriv- ed with everything for a birthday party. Several from our mid- st are travelling to the 106 years of Toronto. Visiting with Bill and Earlene Armstrong this past week was their daughter, Brenda and Wayne McKinnon and ° granddaughter, Chan- tilly of Sterling. Then on the weekend, son Brian and Dawne and Tiffaney of Oshawa. On Sunday they all attended the Uxbridge Steam Show at Quaker Hill. Improved health is wished for Leta Doupe who is in hospital. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Strong spent the week- end with the Hargraves in Toronto. On Sunday Les and Grace Beacock visited a cousin, Miss A. Strick- land of Oshawa, then were dinner guests with sister Mary and Laverne Devitt. INE 00.1, 1 {OVER 1.44 [df 3 EMIVIERSON | rg INSURANCE BROKERS LIMITED 5 APPLIANCE sg) 193 QUEEN ST.
