Actually he hasn't had much time for socializing as he has been on the circuit winning all kinds of ribbons. At Blackstock Fair he won hs 4th Grand Championship. He is a handsome polled Angus bull owned by Jeff Bailey and Art Powell. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Mound of Trenton visit- ed Gord and Jill Postma this weekend and spent a day at Lake Simcoe. Mr. and Mrs. Postma Sr. visited Gord and Jill last week. They also live in the Trenton area. Rev. Archie McCurdy from the Toronto Con- ference chaplancy was guest speaker at the Church on Sunday, then was a luncheon guest with Don and Stella Asling. Miss Jennifer Asling of Hanover has been visiting her grand- parents, Don and Stella Asling for a week. Earl Taylor's cousins, Dr. and Mrs. Tink of Ill. USA, were overnight guests on Thursday. They accompanied Earl and Elizabeth to Cullen Gardens for dinner. Congratulations to - Carl Hansen on his birthday. On Sunday, Carl and his mother visited John and Joanne Hansen of Markham and helped wee Sara celebrate her first birth- day. On Friday Mrs. Elva Kerry and her sister Mrs. Wilda Meyers of Bobcaygeon attended the Carnival held at Port Perry Villa and Nursing Home. There will be a Sun- day School meeting on Wed. evening at the home of Denise Thorn at 8 p.m. Mrs. Donna Rodin and children called on Mr. and Mrs. Howard Ash- ton one afternoon last week. Mr. Elmer Fairman of Uxbridge visited with Mr. Howard Ashton on Friday. Greg Ashton of Oak- wood has returned home after a summer holiday with Ashtons. The Wilson picnic was held Sat. at Elgin Park and the home of Mrs. J.P. Wilson. Those attending from Epsom area were Elmer, Earl and Douglas Wilson and their families. Danny Powell was also a guest of the hospital (overnight) when he suffered a broken wrist while visit- ing Grandma Ewen in Mount Albert. Mr. and Mrs. Leon Lefebvre and her father, Mr. Maurice Hostins attended the funeral of Mrs. Annie Lambier of Bowman- ville on Thursday. Alice and Steve Lee and Dan attended the festivities at Blackstock including the Fair Demolition Derby and Community dinner. Barry and Glen Page had an interesting day recently at Minden Wild Water Reserve where they went while water canoeing. The canoe was a "write-off'"' but both paddlers survived the mishap. Mrs. Dini Page spent a few days in Haliburton with Wendy Bateman teaching classes in "Dying" at Sir Sandford Fleming summer course. Recent visitors at the Page home were Mr. and Mrs. Hank Van Somern. Miss Linda Parry of Kitchener spent a few days with her aunt, Darlene Begin. On Wed. Linda's mother, Marie Parry and friend, Frank McPherson of Toronto, joined them for dinner. Mrs. Miriam Sher- man, Michael and Katie of Edmonton visited Darlene Begin on Thurs- day. On Sunday, Jean and Gordon Jeffery visited Mrs. Charity Jeffery in Stouffville. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Wilson and friends, Mr. and Mrs. Les Sample of Ill. USA, have returned from a visit to Ottawa and Quebec cities and a two week tour of the Maritime provinces. Ann Russell of Port Perry was an overnight guest of Janice Evans. Wendy Evans was an overnight guest with her friend, Heather Munro. George Kight of Utica had his 90th birthday last week. The ceremony was officiated by Father Bernard Wilson of St. Gertrude's Church in Oshawa. Parents of the bride are Angelo and Maria Paparella of 657 Athol St. East, Oshawa and the groom's parents are Joseph and Helen O'Reilly of 210 Lilla Street, Port Perry. Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attended by maid of honour Nadia Moro of Scarborough and bridesmaids, Sandi Paparella of Oshawa, Lynn O'Reilly and Laurie O'Reilly, both of Port Perry and Evelyn Christ of Oshawa. The best man was Michael DeGagne of Toronto. The ushers were Guy Paparella of Oshawa, Nick Paparella of London, Vito Casalino of Oshawa and Jim Ryan of Greenwood, Nova Scotia. The soloist was Lea Dowson of Port Perry. The bride wore a satin and lace gown with a full-length train, embroidered with sequins, lace and pearls.
