Esteemed local senior citizen dies in hospital Blackstock Area News by Joyce Kelly On Christmas Day, Marwood McKee one of our older esteemed citizens passed away in Port Perry Hospital. Mr. McKee has lived at the Port Perry Nursing Home since Mrs. Mc- Kee's death but until then had been a life-long resident of Cartwright. Sympathy is extended to his relatives and friends. The funeral service was held on Friday in the Port Perry Funeral Chapel. On Christmas Eve a very impressive service was held for the Black- stock Charge in the United Church with a large congregaion attending. The theme was the Light of Christmas using the Advent Candles. Special music was presented by both the Junior and Senior Choirs, a solo by Francis Grove, a duet by Eileen McLoughlin and Glenn Larmer and a trio by Janice, Claire and Leslie Mackenzie with reflections by Elaine Barber, student minister and Rev. Dale Davis. A delightful way to set the tone for Christmas. Word has been receiv- ed of the passing of Floyd Hall of Toronto on Dec. 1 at the age of 92. Mr. Hall who was the son of the late Sarah Bradburn and James Hall was a direct descendant of Mr. and Mrs. Hall, the first settlers of Cartwright. He, along with his brothers Fred and Bob, lived with his parents on the first Concession on the former Lorne Hoskin farm. His nephew, Jim Hall's wife, Jean, also died in October in West Orange, New Jersey. Christmas Day guests of Neil and Elaine Bailey, Howard and Tara were Merlin and Katherine Bailey of London, and Roy and Catherine Corden, Julie and Christie. Bryan and Judi Mountjoy, Kerri-Ann and Julie of British Columbia are spending the holiday season with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Mountjoy and Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Swain and other rela- tives and friends.
