McColl got his second of the night for the Mo- Jacks a minute later with a blazing slap shot from the face-off circle and at 14:21, Johnstone restored a MoJack lead at 4-3. Nicholson did some fine work deep in the Merchant zone, held on to the puck and then fed a pass to Johnstone who rapped it into a gap- ing net. That 4-3 lead stood un- til the 15:31 mark of the third when Kevin Barker . That one came just as the MoJacks had killed off two straight minor penalties, and it set the stage for Nicholson's two ~ goals in the final three - minutes. As they did in game two, the Merchants employed strong fore- checking to keep the Mo- Jacks off balance in their own zone and this tactic forced give-aways on more than one occasion. In fact, the Merchants enjoyed a territorial ad- vantage and Ken Har- man in the MoJack net had to be sharp to keep the score close. The MoJacks got a bad scare late in the second period when captain Scott Wallace was check- ed heavily into the up- right glass partition at the end of the player's . bench. He had to be car- ried off on a stretcher and there were fears that his shoulder may be broken. But it turned out to be a bad bruise and he may see action before this series is over. Game three in this ex- citing series will be at the Scugog Arena this Thurs- day night (Jan.31) wich face off at 8:30 P.M. The series moves to Little Britain on Saturday for a 7:30 start and then returns to the Scugog Arena for game five Sun- day evening (Feb. 3) with game time set for 7:30. In other Central Junior C playoff action, the Bowmanville Eagles lead Uxbridge two games to zero after wins of 7-2 and 10-4. The Port Hope Panthers have taken a 1-0 series lead over Cobourg, and the Lakefield Chiefs appear to be on their way to dumping the Lindsay Muskies as they lead the series two games to none. The Chiefs won 4-0 and 7-4 in weekend action.
