The girls came out flat and although they scored the first goal it wasn't long before Mariposa over- took us and never looked back. It wasn't until the last three minutes of the . game that the girls ap- peared to wake up and scored some gaals in suc- cession. Scorers for Port were Kelly Menzies, 2 goals, 2 assists; Denna Lovering 3 goals, 2 assists; Misty Andrews 1 goal; Nicky Beare 3 assists and Amy Parlia- ment 1 assist. Amy Parlia- ment played her first game in net and did a fine job. Other scorers were Kim Poppleton 2 goals; Lyndsay Dutkewich 2 goals; Tanya Towns, Danielle Cooper, Misty Andrews and Tracey Pelow each scored 1 goal. Overall Cartwright Cen- tral has done quite well. On Monday, February 4 the senior girls played against Waverley and beat them 42-10. They also played Harmony Heights and won 31-13. On Wednesday February basketball team has also been doing quite well. On Wednesday, February 20 the boys played against Thora and won 34-18, also on Wednesday February 27, the boys played against Sunderland and won 31-19.
