\ | Rn rn Ta ----s NT aR Hl E § f : 3 H At Greenbank Hall and lanson Park PORT PERRY STAR -- Tuesday, March 26, 1985 -- 11 Annual Easter hunt for kids only Greenbank News by Mrs. Armour McMillan The Greenbank Hall Committee is holding its 3rd annual Easter Egg Hunt for local children on April 6th, 1 to 3 p.m. at Greenbank Hall and lan- son Park. There will be entertainment and treats for all the children. Ad- mission is $1.00 per child with a $3.00 family maximum. On Sunday morning Ann Rae joined Green- bank Church by transfer of membership. Several of the congregation took part in the service by reading the scripture lessons and a dialogue entitled 'Last Night I Dreamed I was, of all things, a Sheep'. This was followed by a vocal solo, The Ninety and Nine. The Junior Choir also favoured us with a lovely number and we do appreciate the time spent by their leaders. Hospital auxiliary meeting by Luella Graham The Port Perry Com- munity Hospital Ladies Auxiliary held their meeting on Monday, March 18th with 23 ladies present. The President opened the meeting by all repeating the Auxiliary prayer in unison, after which the Secretary and Treasurer's reports were given. Bonnie Gerrow had several pairs of baby booties turned in and reported 5 boys and 6 girls born since our last meeting. Hazel Coates showed us lovely sweaters, baby outfits and mitts she had turned in. We "Thank" these ladies who gave of their time to this work. We also had a lovely dressed doll and two nee- dle point' pictures donated. This doll will be on display at our Doll Draw being held later this fall. There were several things discussed under new business. The Rose Tag day will be held May 10, and 11th. The Spring Conference will be held in Newmarket on Wednesday, April 3rd. Ladies, we hope you are thinking of our Spring Fair which is be- ing held at the Latcham Centre at 2 p.m. on April 27th, and ladies I do have more draw tickets on hand. At our next meeting being held at the Hospital on Monday, April 15 at 1:30, we are having Of- ficer Bradley Carleton with us to give a talk on Drugs. We do hope for a good attendance and anyone in the Communi- ty will be most welcome to attend. Men too! Last Monday evening Mr. and Mrs. Don McKean entertained Mrs. Muriel Gibson on "her birthday. Muriel blew out the candles but didn't discuss her wish. Mr. and Mrs. Armour McMillan were also guests at the dinner. Mr. and Mrs. Len Jar- vis have arrived home from a holiday with friends in Calgary. Reserve April 5th for the joint Good Friday Holy 'Communion Ser- vice at the Greenbank United Church at 7:30 .m. Mr. and Mrs. Armour McMillan attended open house for the 50th wed- ding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Hill in _ the Silver Jubilee Senior Citizens rooms in Stouff- ville on Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Phoenix and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Hunter have returned home from oJ visited with Mr. and Mrs. holiday in Cuba and report lovely warm weather. Recent visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Dan McKean were Mr. and Mrs. Larry Trevelon and children, Barrie and Ann Wills and Alice Bell of Scarborough. Mrs. Olive McMillan Robert Snodden and Mr. and Mrs. Gordon Hood of Valentia on Sunday. 'There will be a Com- munity shower for Heather Howsam on Wednesday, April 10th at 7:30 p.m. at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Howsam. Ladies please bring lunch.
