Winter struck what is to be hoped the final blow on Sunday with an ab- solutely horrible day with high winds and freezing rain. School buses were cancelled on Monday due to very slip- pery side roads. Several from here played in the three day Cash Curling Bonspiel at Port Perry and had a great time. Mr. Bill Carson of Bronte was a Sunday guest of Rev. and Mrs. Dale Davis. Gerald and Joyce Kel- ly and Esther were Sun- day dinner guests of Bob and June Petch, Kent and Catherine of Aurora. Larry Hoskin of Lake Louise spent a week with his parents Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hoskin and visited \) hy LN, BN other friends and relatives in the area. Ralph and Peggy Larmer enjoyed a bus tour sponsored by the Guernsey Association to various points in Ohio: Enroute they were over- night guests of Paul and Nancy Larmer at Guelph. Remember April is Cancer Month - the can- vassers will be coming so try to be generous. The Korean Mission Festival jointly planned by Nestleton and Blackstock churches was held Sunday afternoon in Blackstock. An excellent | turnout in spite of slip- pery roads enjoyed a brunch of Korean style foods and looking at posters and displays prepared by the Sunday School classes and U.C.W. groups. Painted face masks and a Zodiak calendar were real atten- tion getters. Nestleton Sunday School sang the Korean National Anthem and a happy song called "Rejoice" which they later taught us to sing as a round. A film 'Beautiful Korea' show- ed the magnificent hills and scenery of the coun- try rebuilding from the ravages of war. Local folk showed real talent in filling the void of the guest speakers absence due to icy roads. They described how the food was prepared and shared the recipes and talked of what they had learned from preparing the posters and displays. Blackstock junior class sang Happy Birthday in Korean for two birthday girls. Elaine Barber was thanked by Grace Hall for her special efforts in planning this happy event. Grace gave her some flowers. Denzil Moore presented Elaine with an enterpreter's bi- ble commentary on behalf of the charge in appreciation of her ministry here as a stu- dent. ~-- RENT A .
