Every time Ken is on the ice, he plays with a great deal of intensity and teamed with Clay Lover- ing, many league observers felt the tandem was the best in the Central loop this season. In the past two years, Ken has not miss- ed a game or practise. Captain Scott Wallace won the trophy as the best defenisive player, presented by coach Gary Brethor. This was Scott's final season as a MoJack because of age. He developed into a very ef- fective penalty killer with his speed and abili- ty to controlthe puck. The Watts family award, presented by Clare Watts for the most improved player went to freshman Kevin Trapp, who received a very warm round of applause from those at the ban- respectively. Junior C president, Howie Stevenson from Lakefield, made this special presentation to Mr. Jackson. This is the first year the organiza- tion has recognized in- dividuals for their con- tribution to the league and ten will be presented across Ontario. Mr. Jackson is president of Mother Jackson's Open Kitchens in Port Perry and is the former owner of Flamingo Pastries. MoJacks general manager Murray Parlia- ment introduced all the members of the MoJacks individually and made special mention to the five players who will be over-age when the 1985-86 season rolls around. They are goaltender Clay Lover- ing, forwards Scott Wallace and Wayne Snodden, and defensemen Mike Ryan and Bob Horton. In his address, Mr. Parliament called the just completed season one of the most gratify- ing ever. He noted that the team got off to a very slow start and at one point was in last place. But he said the players and coaching staff didn't give up, kept working hard at practise, and on the final weekend of the season, the team won two back games to nail down third spot. The opening playoff round with Little/Britain went the full seven games and Mr. Parlia- guys showed up when they were down 4-0 in game seven and came back to win it," he said. The team then went down to defeat in a rugg- ed series with Bowman- ville, but Mr. Parliament said he was very proud of the players when they stayed on the ice to offer congratulations to the winners.
