The old policy which forbid the fire depart- "ment to pump basements had been on the Township books since 1975. . The change in the policy, which was ap- proved Monday by the Township council, came about partly after a serious situation earlier this spring in which the basement of a home on Bigelow St. was hit with several feet of water, threatening both the fur- nace and electrical panel. The policy change deals with emergency cases and the depart ment will continue not pumping out basements where there is just a small amount of water. NEED PHOTO COPIES? We can do them for you!
