"I love good quality shoes at a reasonable price and great style too. Thing is, Port Perry has been missing all of those things," she said. The 29 year old mer- chant has lived in town for eight years, and for eight vears she has miss- ed not being able to shop for shoes in the area "Port Perry is yearn- ing for a shoe store.' she said. Everybody | talk to wants one." So on May 4th she of- ficially opened the Cob- bler's Bench, a women's and children's shoe shop right beside the Becker's store on Queen Street. Her stock features feet fashions by companies like Jordache, Hang Ten, Bonnie Stewart, Calico and Ipanema, ail of which focus in on style that's comfortable and practical. She has totally re- furbished the store right from 'the floor up. with lots of wood. soft pastel colours. bricks and plants. The scenario matches the mood of her summer shoes, many of which are made from light, airy woven fabrics or genuine leather. At the moment the Cobbler's Bench is open six days a week but Kathy is seriously con- sidering opening on Sun- days as well, at least dur- ing the summer months.
