Agricrew adds extra hours Do you feel that there are just not enough hours in the day to do all the jobs that are necessary around the farm? Well then, Agricrew is for you. Agricrew is a program operated by the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and Food. Each Agricrew, consisting of four enthusiastic young people, is capable of do- ing most tasks and is willing to help you get all those jobs, from hoeing to haying, done. This year four crews are operating in Durham and York Region and are available from June 24 to August 24. The crew can be hired out for an eight hour day and they provide their own transportation and lunches. A limit of five days per farmer has been set to allow the crews to meet a variety of farmers and gain ex- perience. Each Agricrew Weekend letdown Scugog Island News by Mrs. Earl Reader What a disappointing weekend for the first of the holiday season. Yet some would welcome the rains especially in fire threatened areas. We have reached the season of finishing off winter activities and preparations for a new season. So we clean up our papers for June 8. Then think about a Con- gregational and S.S. pic- nic for the Scugog United on Sunday, June 9 after we have had a lady speaker at the Church Service, sponsored by the Bay of Quinte Conference. 2 SEAGRAVE 2985-8677 Next Sunday Rev. Art Rodgers of Seagrave will be at the Island United while Rev. Robinson goes back to Seagrave. Preparations are underway for a summer Bible School for 1 week so more teachers are needed. On Tuesday at 8 p.m. of next week, the Elders are requested to meet at the Island United.
