During the week Sam and Mabel Cawker of Scugog Point Rd. were evening visitors with Robert and Madeline Cawker of Scugog Island. Over the tea cups they caught up on fami- ly news. Also the Sam Cawkers were afternoon tea gues. with Dan and Ruth Girardi and Nancy of Bowmanville on Thursday - later visiting Ken Bragg at his farm home. A day of visiting and reminiscing' John and Pauline Lyons of Millbrook visited at the Cawker farm one even- ing recently - so nice to see them again looking so fil. Several money raising ventures were brought up during the business period, discussed and decisions made. Honourary memberships were conferred upon P.D.D.GM. Sister Audrey Martin of Durham Chapter and P.D.D.G.M. Sister Thelma Beerthuizen of ° Sunbeam - presented by Sister Elsie Wilbur. 25 year pins were given to Sister Anne Wallace and Sister Joyce Storry presentation by Sister Mabel Cawker. At the close of the meeting the entertain- ment convenor Sister Carol Morrow had a uni- que program consisting of the lively, toe-tapping talented group from Scugog Island under the supervision of Ethel Freeman, leader, with pianists Bonnie Bell and Edna Beckett; banjo and bass guitar - Freeman, Saxaphone - Robt. Cawker, and Ar- chie Walker sang © 1ac- companied hims { on the guitar. Music .overs enjoyed the familiar favourites sung during the variety programme immensely. Truly crowd pleasers this har- monious group! As the evening moved along delicious refreshments were serv- ed buffet style - conven- ed by Sister Marjorie McCombe assisted by Kay, Doris and Sarah. After the assortment of salads, meats, etc. a beautifully decorated birthday cake was cut and served.
