The Port Perry Fair is over, with many happy memories and the Island Women's Institute are happy to have captured a fourth prize on their display of old time Christmas decorations. We welcome the new family on the former Ashbridge farm at the "Head" - Mr. and Mrs. Bedell and their 4 sons, tho' they won't be involv- ed in the Community un- til later. Don Ashbridge spent last weekend in the Oshawa Hospital for the removal of a kidney stone. So he is now recuperating in their temporary Port Perry home. On Sunday many children returned to the Island United for an ear- ly start in Sunday School. Rev. Robinson presented each with the gift of a new pencil for their school days and remind- ed them of God's gifts in preparation for life. The "Head" U.C.W. meet at the home of Mrs. Alva Thompson at 46 Or- chard Road in Apple Valley this Wed. evening. Don't forget the Bake and Craft Sale Sat.
