Founded only in 1974, this organization under the direction of Diane Dupuy, is famous for its life-size, puppet por- trayals of "famous peo- ple." Ultra-violet light il- luminates the animated antics of such stars as Michael Jackson, Frank Sinatra, Liberace, Anne Murray, Lisa Minelli, Superman and many more as the black-clad puppeteers, operating only through their senses of feeling and hearing, manipulate the stars' lives. This world-class com- pany 1s not only famous for its magical illusions, it is equally renowned because nine out of its twelve puppeteers are mentally handicapped. Diane Dupuy, founder of the troupe, was convinc- ed that handicapped peo- ple could, with patient training, function with a dexterity far beyong the capabilities of the or- dinary person. And the results have certainly proven her beliefs. In 1976 only two years after the inception of the company, the group stormed Las Vegas as the special guests of Liberace. Since then they have toured China, criss- crossed the States and Canada, and now play Port Perry before begin- ning another American tour.
