Seagrave and Area News by Marilyn Beacock have some very special and talented young peo- ple living here and to fur- The response from neighbouring com- munities as well as our own to the Dieter Wilhelm family who recently had their home ravaged by fire, has been nothing short of over- whelming. Although the family had insurance on their home they did not have content insurance and as a result of the ex- tensiveness of the fire they have lost almost all of their belongings. A fellow workmate of Dieter's, Mr. Gerry Ogden, is busily organiz- ing a benefit golf tourna- ment to be held at the Pine Ridge Golf Course in Prince Albert on Sun- day, Sept. 15. I unders- tand that the owners of the golf course Henry and Edith Paukstys have agreed to generously donate the green fees to the Wilhelm family. Donations may be also made at the general stores in Seagrave, Prince Albert and other stores and businesses in Port Perry. We are pleased to note that Christopher has been released from hospital and Dieter ar- rived home on Saturday. We certainly wish for happier times ahead for this young couple. During the summer holidays we lost one of our good neighbours. John and Noreen Ball have sold their home and are busily building a new one on a beautiful wood- ed lot just north and a bit west of Pontypool. Best wishes to you in your new home! The village of Seagrave' warmly welcomes Mr. and Mrs. Rick Coffey and their children, Lindsey and Joshua, to our communi- ty. They have recently purchased the home formerly owned by Mr. and Mrs. Ball. On Friday evening the Seagrave Store Mites ball team closed out the 1985 season with a party hosted by Emilie Lemieux. This was a smashing success with all the kids having a great time in the pool. Following supper the in- dividual awards and medallions were given out. Jan Addison presented a lovely gift to Emilie and also to Patty Williams from the team. The team and coaches are especially grateful to the parents who were so cooperative and especially to umpire Wayne Addison, their sponsor the Seagrave Store and the Seagrave Parks Board Sunday afternoon the Al. Wray family had the pleasure of attending the 25th Wray family reu- nion which was held in Kirby Fifty-one people were present for this happy occasion and from all reports everyone thoroughly enjoyed get- ting re-acquainted with other members of the family. I'm not biased, of course, when [I say Seagrave is a very special place but I only feel that way because we ay "ther illustrate this point a very pretty as well as talented young lady, Miss Melanie Lee, has recently passed her grade 9 singing exam and is presently taking her grade 10 - a remarkable feat con- PORT PERRY STAR -- Tuesday, Sept. 10, 1985 -- 17 Overwhelming response from neighbours sidering 'Mel' 1s only 16!
