Board Policy No.7113 requires that an in- augural meeting be held to explain the functions and responsibilities of the committee. Non-trustee com- mittee members will be elected. W. Fairburn, Area Superintendent, will explain the functions and responsbilities of the Committee. Please plan to attend the inaugural meeting of the School Accommoda- tion Committee for Cartwright High School on next Monday, October 7 at the Gymnasium C.C.P.S. at 7:30 p.m. An important consideration for the committee will be the concerns of parents and ratepayers of the Cartwright High School community. The committee members whom you elect will share in the formulation of the committee report. The great im- portance of a LARGE number of concerned ratepayers and parents to attend this meeting to discuss the future of our High School cannot be overemphasized. Our school has had a very proud history. Board representatives do tell your neighbours about this important meeting and be sure to attend, Mon- day evening, October 7 at 7:30 p.m. Better health is wished for several of our residents who have been in hospital recently - Ruby VanCamp, Ross Weir and Pat Dalton. Gord Vincent won the Nana Mouskouri "Name That Tune' contest. The big winners in the horseshoe doubles were Rick Alpe and Linda Westlake. An eventful day ended with a corn roast and a good time was had by all. Sunday evening dinner guests at Rick and Patti Alpe's were Rich Miller and Wendy Killens. Patti's mom, Nancy Bryans dropped in later in the evening. No interest shown in Blackstock Minor Hockey! Two consecutive advertised registration nights have produced less than half of last year's enrolment. Registration monies may have to be refunded. Therefore, a general community meeting will be held on Monday, Oc- tober 7, 7:30 at the Rec Centre for parent volunteers and late registration. Last week Moira Fallis, Elaine Bailey, Eleanor Werry, Jean Mahaffy and Jean Trewin enjoyed a week long trip to Frankenmuth and other points in Michigan State, Mackinaw Island and the train trip to Algoma Canyon where the col- ours of the leaves were absolutely beautiful. They report having a great holiday. On Saturday evening Nancy and Bob Bryans attended the 50th an- niversary of Mary and Dean Grills ot Courtice at the Lions Centre, Bowmanville. Many acquaintances were renewed as Mary and Dean were neighbours when Nancy and Bob lived in Courtice. Eleanor Kelly was home for the weekend from Queen's University. On Friday evening she won a trophy for first place in a class at the Bob- caygeon Fair Tractor Pull. She gave the M.C. her uncle Harvey Graham something extra to talk about dur- ing her successful pull. Anne-Marie Hoogeveen also from Queen's University was home for the weekend bidding her relatives from Holland farewell before they leave to return home. Last week Pat Fletcher, Dianna and Scott moved to their new home that recently vacated by Gord and Deb Bryans on Mason Street or perhaps better known as Pig Tail Alley. Mrs. Phylis Hamilton has moved to her apartment in Port Perry. After the many years in Cartwright it will be a big change for her. Walter and Audrey Wright have moved into the home formerly own- ed by Phylis. Best wishes to all these folk in their new surroundings.
