The following ladies were members of the cham- pionship team: Bev Brown, Elaine Van Wieringen, Mary Hawes, Norma Bailey, Anne Marie Kennedy and Norma Howsam. Lucy Wilson (centre) was tied with Josie Wilson (absent) fcr the best low gross score of 38. There was also a tie for the low net score between Debbie Timms and Norma Bailey. The avrard for most points went fo Norma Bailey. On the road teams fared pretty well The mosquito girls, pee wee girls, bantam girls and women's team played soccer in the Durham Girls Soccer League this summer. The Lake Scugog Lumber Mosquito team finished in first place and won the Durham Girls Mosquito. Cup. They won the championship over Bowmanville with a score of 1-0. Laura Mark scored the winning goal. The girls worked very hard as a team. Congratulations girls and coach Eileen Gerber. The One Hour Photo Pee Wee girls ended runners up in a 4 team league and also were cup runners up to the Pickering team. These girls are all excited and looking forward to a new season in 1986. The Homestead Bantam Girls team were beaten in the semi-finals by the Oshawa Kicks team. The bantam team had a very discouraging year and this did not make a very successful soccer season for these girls. Bob Ervine ended the season as their coach. Thanks Bob. The Women's team ended the season in 4th place in a league of six. Most of the girls held summer jobs and were very dedicated to this team and are look- ing forward to another successful season in soccer. Most of the teams in the Durham League are select teams and the Port Perry teams are house league. We are very proud of all these girls as they have some pretty tough, competitive teams to play against. Boys Teams The Mosquito, pee wee and bantam boys soccer teams were fortunate this year to be included in the Bowmanville United Soccer House League. Much improvement was made at all levels during the season Soccer wound up its season last week with a banquet for the teams that play out-of-town. Some of the trophy winners included, from left: Ron Rankin, Laurine Williamson, Rory Bell and Joanne Birkett, who all received trophies for players with the most im- provements. Centre row, left: Michael Toye, and even though we had to travel every other week the boys really en- joyed it. The mosquito team, Royal Canadian Legion, ended the season in 5th position in a 10 team league. The pee wee team, Vachon, ended 6th in a 7 team league and the ban- tam team, Port Perry Printing ""Stormers" ended 3rd in a 3 team league. Thanks to our coaches, Col- in Dodd, Jim Van Schagen and Clive Roane, for their generous time devoted to these teams. In the Cup competition, the mos- quitos finished 3rd, losing to Newcastle in the semi-finals, the pee wees finished 2nd, losing to Newcas- tle in the final and the bantams finished in 3rd spot. Well done boys, the Scugog Club is really proud of you. To end the season on a great note the pee wee and mosquito boys and girls teams had a banquet and dance. Congratulations to Lorrine Williamson of Scugog Lumber, Joanne Birkett of One Hour Photo, Ron Rankin of Royal Canadian Legion, and Rory Bell of Vachon, for winning the most improved player medals. Congratulations also to Lisa Toye of Scugog Lumber, Joanne Birkett of One Hour Photo, Jason Towns of Royal Canadian Legion and Michael Toye of Vachon for win- ning the most Sportsmanlike player medals. Along with these awards the Pee wee boys also received their runner-up trophies from the Bowmanville United League. . Presenting these trophies was Mr. - Wolf Geiger, chairman of the league. Also present to assist in trophy presentations were sponsors, Mrs. Roberts of Vachon and Mr. Christie of the Royal Canadian Legion. Each player also received a trophy from the Scugog Club. Many thanks to the parents who assisted with teams and especially to moms and dads who were able to drive to games, we really appreciate your help. Singers perform "The Internationals," a well- known group of young singers who tour this and many other countries, will present their concert at Port Perry Baptist Church on Thursday, October 10. Now in their thirteenth year, they provide one of the most unique and exciting musical programs around today. Under the talented direction of Jim Greer, 'The Internationals" have delighted audiences all over the United States, Europe and Japan. This versatile team of singers has made appearances on television, in shopping centers, churches and high schools all over the United States. Their tours have taken them from Biscayne Bay to the Berlin Wall and from Louvre to the Liberty Bell. Wherever they go the response is always enthusiastic. Jason Towns, Lisa Toye and Joanne Birkett (front) received trophies for being 'good sports."
