On three evenings last week, Dr. Tom Millar took his twenty-five choristers through an electric pro- gram of songs old and new. The au- dience very much appreciated the opportunity of joining in on several familiar choruses, such as "The Man Who Broke the Bank at Monte Carlo' and 'Daisy, Daisy' (enacted by Ann Lane on her two-wheeler). A brief impromptu reprise from Showboat was offered by Ken Jackson on the closing Saturday performance. In addition to the 'golden oldies' with solos interspersed by Don Taylor, Bruce McMillan, Jean Ken- nedy, Vic Agnew and Hugh Baird, the program's first half offered a mellow quartet comprised of Baird, wife Roberta, and Tom and Catherine Millar, singing a salute to 'New York, New York' and a melodic 'Hello Again.' Irv Gibson followed with two novelty songs, one being the tangled tale of 'I'm My Own Granpaw,' delighting a whole new generation. Another novelty group, based on the popular Andrews Sisters of the 40's fame and made up of Jill Bradley, Heather Kellington and Kin Dick, clad in clinging jumpsuits, belted forth a Ragtime Medley and a great 'Boogie Woogie.' They were followed by a seven-member 'glit- ter' ensemble who discoed their way through Abba's 'Angel Eyes' and 'As Good As New' as Tom-Tom on synthesizer and his piano partner, Kim Dick, pounded out the beats. A cohesive and mellow full chorus then closed the first half with Barry Manilow's 'I Write the Songs' and A Chorus Line's 'What I Did For Love.' Opening the second half, the 'Dick Miller' duo, Kim on piano, Tom on electric keyboard. launched nto a widely varied set of three numbers. chmaxed by the hvely 'Jamaican Rhumba.' As an encore, the two presented some highly unusual variations on 'Early One Morning.' just playing around. as it were. The remainder of the show mar- ched in on 'Seventy-Six Trombones' from The Music Man, with special 'guest appearance by Stage Manager Alf Kennedy, who tuned their kazoos. Medleys of numbers from Music Man, Fiddler on the Roof, Oliver and Showboat delighted the audience, as they had carte blanche to pick their own special favourites, from 'Lida Rose' (the men and two ladies) to 'Can't Help Lovin' Dat Man' (Jean Kennedy and chorus). Other soloists were Denise Hopkins with 'Til There Was You,' Kim Dick with 'Goodnight My So- meone,' Vic Agnew and Catherine Millar with three Showboat favourites (Make Believe You Are Love, and Why Do I Love You?). closing with Don Taylor's Showboat- Prepare for winter's rust and corrosion. front fenders front wheel kners braces 52 Water St., Port Per sponsored by the PORT PERRY LIONS CLUB "Wheeler Dealer" 1s a fast paced action packed game of skill stateqy and the "hick of the dice." where two to six players "wheel n deal" their way around their own town buying up trading & selling local business properties that actually exist in Port Perry, Aldred's Store - AVAILABLE AT THE FOLLOWING LOCAL BUSINESSES: Home Hardware - Ted E.
