PORT PERRY 985-9009 Santa's coming to store Seagrave and Area News by Patty Wilhams week Please give Ann Sandiford a call at 985-9440 with your news for next "santa"s Coming to "The Seagrave Store" The Christmas season was of- ficially ushered in with the Santa Claus Parade in Port Perry on Saturday Seagrave really showed its Christmas spirit as community organizations entered 5 floats = The Seagrave Brownies were all set to fly south for the winter on their float 'Sun Seekers' driven by Len Wall But the Cubs were ready to brave the cold Canadian winter on their float "Winter Camping'. The Guides and Pathfinders ap- peared to be spending a quiet "Christmas at Home' while the combined Greenbank-Seagrave Cartwright Scouts were hard at work in "Santa's Workshop' with Scoutmaster Bob Couperthwaite driving. The little folks from Seagrave Playschool were all bundl- ed up for a "Christmas Ride' in Earl and Joan Durward"s dray with Charlie Durward at the reins. Many thanks to all who participated. Also on Saturday, Greenbank Public School held their Christmas Bazaar. Thanks to all who worked so hard to make this a tremendous suc- cess This fund-raising event replac- ed door-to-door sales. Special thanks to Dot Hooker and Jan Robinson for their ogranization of this project. Coming up this Saturday, Dec. 7, Santa Claus will be visiting the Seagrave Store. All the children are invited to have a chat with him bet- ween 1 and 3 p.m. Refreshments will be served and Santa will have a lit- tle treat for the kids. On Sunday Dec. 8 at 9:30 Seagrave United Church will be holding its White Gift Service. The Good Neighbours Group will be meeting at the home of Heather Wray at 8:15 on Monday, Dec. 9. The Sunday School Christmas con- cert will be held on Friday Dec. 20 at 7:30 at the Seagrave United Church. On Wed. Dec. 18 the Seagrave Playschool will be holding its annual Christmas Party.
