Muriel and Helen McKean joined a bus trip to the Craft Show at Exhibition Park on Thursday. Our Women's Institute meeting will be held on Dec. 11 at 12:30 noon at the McKean's home. Don't forget to bring a gift for a young mother or girls 3 and 1 year. This is for Opera- tion Scugog's Christmas Cheer. Remember 'Love isn't put in your heart to stay. Love isn't Love till you give it away." Mr. and Mrs. MacMustard of Leaskdale had dinner with the Willie Stones and later attended the pro- gramme at Port Perry Town Hall. Our public school aged children are reminded of the Jr. Choir prac- tice after school on Wednesdays. If the success of the Greenbank Public Schools' first Christmas Bazaar is any indication, the spirit of community support is certainly not suffering in our village. Held this past Saturday at the Town Hall, this first time effort was a tremendous success with large crowds coming out to support a worthwhile cause, and to take a little something nice home at the same time. In excess of $2.400 was raised for the school, which will go toward recreational equipment for our children. This is more than twice the amount raised last year through the door to door chocolate bar sales, which the bazaar is replacing for this year. This is quite an achievement for a village school the size of ours, and sincere thanks must go to many. To the parents that worked tirelessly on projects both in the school and at home: to the children and staff of the school; to the large number of people that came out in support on Saturdgy and for the many dona- tions of crafts and baked goods our sincere thanks goes out. Thanks as well to the merchants of Port Perry and Uxbridge that generously donated prizes for our childrens' fish pond game. How nice it would be if our regional government and Board of Education would show such strung support for the upgrading of facilities for our smaller schools Congratulations to the winners of the raffle Mrs. Shier and Mrs Nesbitt -- hope your goodies are en- joyed This was a great start to the Christmas season, and thanks again to all those that took part. A sale of articles left over will be held Thurs- day.
