On Sat. in their first game they played Trenton and won 5 to 2. Scor- Juniors tie 4-4 On Wednesday December 4 the Port Perry Sportsland Juniors played a game against Ajax. This exciting game ended in a 4-4 tie. This was the first game the girls played with the no-zone ruling thus causing a bit of confusion in position playing. Scoring for us was Kelly Calloway, Cindy Harris, Sherri Har- ris and Jenny Blanchard each with one goal. Assists went to Rachel Traynor, Sherri Harris, Kelly Calloway and Melissa Moehring each with one. All the other girls played well along with our two goalies. Keep up the good work. In the championship game they played Bancroft and had no trouble PORT PERRY STAR -- Tuesday, December 10, 1985 -- 25 Eagles breeze way to tournament victory winning 8 to 0. Scoring the goals for Port were Greg Warriner with 2; Dave Burnett 2, picking up singles were John Harman, Dave Culbert, Dereck Dexter and Rob Baker. Get- ting assists were Steve Durham with 2; Craig Menzies 2; John Har- man with 2; Rob Baker, Warren Geer, Chris Cookman, Dave Burnett and Dereck Dexter each getting singles. John Moore and Bill Eade split the goaltending to come up with the shutout. John Harman was named the M.V.P. for this game. The Eagles have a busy schedule in the next few weeks with 3 games this week and a tournament in Campbellford next Sun. and Bowmanville December 27 - 29. They also play Sweden on New Year's Day. In the first period Jody Logan opened the scor- ing on a nice unassisted effort. At the 2:06 mark Steve Laird scored with the assist going to Jody Logan and Brad Moase. With only 1:07 left in the period, Brad Moase scored with the assist going to Jason Cochrane and Steve Laird. In the second period the Green Machine showed no mercy as they scored 4 more unanswered goals. At the 8:43 mark Jason Cochrane scored with the assist going to Chad Garvock and Steve Laird. At the 6:05 mark Sean McEnaney scored with the assist going to Lindsay Parry. At the 3:25 mark Jeff Parry net- ted a goal with the assist going to Duane Empringham and Jason McBride. At the 2:12 mark Sean McEnaney netted the final goal of the period with the assist going to Jody Logan. In the third period the Malmont Farms Atoms got fire and exploded for 5 more goals.
