14 -- PORT PERRY STAR -- Tuesday, December 17, 1985 Kids give ultimate gift THE ULTIMATE GIFT FROM MY PARENTS When | had my fifth Christmas my' mom and dad bought me a bike It was all covered in red and the seat 1s red with sliver sparkles. I thought it was beautiful I said "It's beautiful thank you.' They said, "Your welcome," But there was one thing wrong. The bike was too big for me So my dad had to help me get up and he also had to hang onto me and the bike. When | was seven I could ride my bike but it was still a bit too big and whenever | wanted to stop I needed my dad to help me and the same with turning. Once, my dad told me to try to stop myself. I tried and I did it but I almost fell. Once | tryed to turn but I was too afraid so I put my foot down. Last summer when I was eight, | turned without putting my foot down and did it without falling. Now I am not afraid to ride my bike anymore. | can't wait until spring to ride my bike again. Karen Oppers, Grade 3, R.H. Cormsh. THE ULTIMATE GIFT FROM MY PARENTS The Ultimate gift from my parents would be a colego and some colego games if I couldn't get that. I'd ask for some clothes. First we opened Santa's gifts. They were very nice gifts. Then we opened our parents' gifts and there right in my face was a very pretty stain glass. It had birds on it. It had brass hinges. I liked it a lot. I put all my jewellery in it. Now it is on my desk in my bedroom. Amy P. Grade 3, R.H. Cornish.
